Earlier this month, our NYS elected officials voted and passed legislation protecting the LGBTQ/transgender community.
We support this legislation and we want to make it clear to our local officials, Kenneth LaValle and Anthony Palumbo of our dismay and disappointment in their lack of support. Please see the letter sent from our NFWFWF President to these officials.

Assembly Member Anthony Palumbo:email@example.com Anthony H. Palumbo is the Assembly member for the 2nd District of the New York Assembly which includes portions of the town of Brookhaven, and all of the towns of Riverhead and Southold on the North Fork of Long Island.
Dear Senator LaValle,
I am writing you on behalf of the membership of North Fork Women For Women Fund. NFWFWF is a 501(c)(3) that is committed to health advocacy and education and develops activities and programs that foster social and community life of lesbians on the North Fork of Long Island.
As we are pleased with recently passed GENDA, the Gender Expression Non-discrimination Act [S1047/A747] and the conversion therapy bills, we are very disappointed and dismayed that you didn’t support these critical legislations. What concerns us most is that you would vote in favor of denying anyone the right to equal treatment under the law.
Our organization supports the rights of all people including our transgender brothers and sisters and those who are gender non-conforming. As an organization based in Suffolk County, it is our hope you would consider the marginalized and be more inclusive and sensitive when making your decisions for your constituents.
