President’s Report: February 2015

This is the first of what I hope will be regular updates to the NFWFWF community. As we discussed at the General Meeting, the dissemination of information is sometimes difficult due in part to the confidential nature of the services we offer. There are ways, however, that we can advise you all what we are doing and these regular updates hope to accomplish this goal.

Since the General Meeting, HelpHer has been very active in assisting members deal with seemingly ceaseless snow and frigid temperatures. We are actively monitoring three separate households with personal visits, help with food shopping and medical appointments, and have coordinated nursing and other in home services. We have assisted with home heating oil and the repair of a broken down heater. We have shoveled snow for a number of households; taken other women food shopping and kept others company. HelpHer has been very busy.

If you or anyone you know needs assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at (631) 477-8464 or info@nfwfwf.net.

On another note, I have started to see more and more of you at Fitness Advantage, the gym in Southold. Indeed, at one point last week, all of those working out were NFWFWFers! We are working on getting a group discount and anticipate offering some light exercise classes outside once the weather warms up.

Feel free to offer any comments below. We welcome the conversation!

Thanks Lori, for all you are doing and accomplishing! I live in Montauk, so don’t always take advantage of your events, but I am happy to hear about them.

    Keep up the great work,
    Judith
