JANUARY 2020 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

.

Dear NFWFWF friends,

Belated Happy New Year! I can’t believe it’s 2020. It seems like just yesterday that we were all nervous about Y2K. But 20 years have passed, and NFWFWF has grown.

My name is Chris P’Simer and I will be the president of North Fork Women for Women Fund for 2020 and 2021. I’m a full-time resident of Cutchogue, where I live with my spouse, Clare Cooper and our beautiful black lab, Lily (named for Lily Tomlin).

Before moving to Cutchogue, Clare and I attended a few NFWFWF events and really enjoyed them. When I joined the Board in 2018, I quickly realized that NFWFWF was not only a group of fun-loving lesbians on the North Fork, but it was a group of wonderful women dedicated to supporting other women financially, medically and socially. I was thrilled to become a member of the board and I am honored to be leading this dynamic organization.

I would like to take a moment to thank the NFWFWF Board members for their work in 2019. Our events were tremendously successful, exceeding past events in attendance and money raised. I would especially like to thank two exceptional women who have led our organization for the last two years. Marj Snyder was President in 2018 and served as past president last year. Marj was instrumental in working with the board and a group of prior NFWFWF leaders to develop a strategic plan to guide our organization for the next few years. Bernie Hoban served as president in 2019 and will continue to serve as past president in 2020. Under Bernie’s leadership, enthusiasm and creativity the board achieved one of its best years ever.

Two members joined the board this year, Lori Panarello and Kikka Harrison. Lori brings marketing and business expertise to the board and Kikka has a strong background in banking and finance. I look forward to working with them and I thank them for volunteering to work on the NFWFWF Board.

The NFWFWF Board is proud of its 2019 accomplishments and is excited about our future plans. On January 25, we will hold our 2020 Annual Meeting, and invite all to attend. We will introduce our new board members, share our 2019 accomplishments and fill you in on details of our 2020 action plans. I encourage you to join us for an information packed meeting at Pace’s Dockside on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 2255 Wickham Avenue in Mattituck. The meeting is from 4–5 p.m. plus a light supper to follow. For all meeting info and to reserve your spot for supper, go to nfwfwf.org/am20.

I look forward to spending time with you at First Friday Friends and at our other events throughout 2020.

All the best,

Chris P’Simer
